Catching Fire: Review

Wow. The first word that pops into my head when thinking back upon this movie I saw the day it came out. To begin, I am a huge hunger games fan. I mean  huge!  Huge as in I have read the first book about 6-7 times, the second 4-5, and the third I am reading for the third. Oh yea, I read the books before announced to be a movie. Yep. My anticipation for Catching Fire had began while just after watching the first movie, a great movie to say the least. After slowly waiting another year, watching too many interviews, and the trailer about 20 times (seriously), the day came for me to see it. Catching fire begins with Katniss blackned out by the sunset behind her, and after captivating you with a gorgeous beginning scene the movie dives in, and takes you with it. Catching Fire brings sadness, happiness, fear, love, compassion, anxiety, any emotion to you that you could think of. It is truly a thrilling movie. Jennifer Lawrence, as Katniss Everdeen, blew me off my feet. Jen truly showed Katniss Everdeen, the girl who strives to be herself, and stand up for what she believes. Katniss, the girl on fire. Also the thing I love about Jennifer, is offscreen she is still a spunky down to earth girl. Everything she does reflects a role model and just makes you want to be her. Then theres Peeta. Oh Peeta. Josh displays Peeta perfectly, down to every last emotion. Josh Hutcherson acts in a way where you not only see his character through words but through every expression on his face, the way he moves his eyebrows, the perfect body movements he makes,  it all grows to create the perfect character I knew and truly loved from the books. After watching the movie, you leave with an empty heart knowing as of right now you know of no one as perfect as him. I could go on about each and every actor in this movie because they were all perfect. Gale's determination, Finnick's flirtatious yet heartfelt ways, Johanna's sassy spunk, Beetee's genius mind, Wiress's vulnerability, Pluratch's acts of rebellion, Snow's threats, they all fit so well. They were all absolutely perfect in every way . Francis Lawrence, the new director, could of not chosen better actors. Speaking of Francis Lawrence, his cinematography   brought the book to whole new hights, in a what i believe to be better than the first. Every scene and every angle adds to the movie. Nothing looks unprepared or sloppy, everything fit together well and the movement and glidings of the camera were absolutely fenimole. The arena lacked in no way shape or form from the books, and the actors just added to the amazing story, and setting of the arena. Something I noticed most was the colors. Im not sure if that is odd, but the colors dulled in District 12, and greatly brightened in the capitol. Sad moments had sad colors, happy moments had happy colors, pretty simple. Francis added a spark that just drew enjoyment to the movie different from Gary Ross. Moving on,  can I just move on to my favorite scene in the whole movie, the beach scene. Katniss and Peeta are sitting on the beach guarding when Peeta begins to talk to Katniss about how if she dies he has nothing left, when Katniss then says if he dies her life will be changed and it ends with a kiss. The movie could not display Katniss's emotions but she states in the book that what she said was finally true when it came to her love for Peeta. Also she said the kiss they shared was the only kiss where she felt something real inside of her, love for Peeta. Lets just say Josh and Jen tied it together great, and it could of not been better. I could continue writing this review for days,  but I should probably stop even though after posting this I will probably add on more. For the past weekend the movie has left me with some feeling that I felt as if I needed more, just more. I have spent the weekends watching interviews just to get some more grasp on the movies, the characters, even if all the actors arent in characters it still helps for me to see them. Well, this movie is a must see and now my official favorite movie leaving me with anxiety for Mockingly. Leave in the comments your thoughts and if you could not stop thinking about this either.
