Divergent

Hey yall! whos excited for valentines day? whos gonna be spending it out with your boyfriend? or alone like most of us, sitting on our computer on tumblr and pinterest? Well, anyway, I am writing this today to talk about yet another book changed into a movie, Divergent. As a review for the book, Divergent is one of my favorite books. (quite cliche i know) The reason I think this book really hits me, is because of the theme of the book. It takes place in a dystopian society where to find your place in the world you must choose a faction. Factions were created when different groups of people believed that humans did not have enough of the trait that their faction revolves around. The five factions include, Dauntless, the brave, Erudite, the intelligent, Candor, the honest, Abnegation, the selfless, and Amity, the peaceful. Once you turn 16, you must enter a faction. However, Tris, played by Shailene Woodley, does not fit into one faction. She chooses to go to Dauntless, and from there she struggles to find herself, and finds a romance along the way. What struck me in the book was probably the romance. Unlike most books, the romance consists of fights, arguments, and disagreements, quite like romance is in real life. I believe displaying that "un-perfect" relationship is important to have in a book with strong characters. Instead of explaining the whole story, I think you need to go out and buy yourself a copy. Because trust me, it is worth it. Another reason to buy this book is because on March 23rd, this book is hitting the theaters. The cast has quite realistic adaptions to the book, and to me, is quite perfect.
