How To Get To Sleep Faster

Hey Guys! So as you can see from the title here are some tips on how to get to sleep faster!

  • Keep your room a cool temperature
It helps you because if your room is too hot you will be twisting your covers around all night long. Now, of course, do not freeze yourself and have your room very cold keep it at about 65-68 degrees fahrenheit so you can snuggle in your covers!
  • Turn off your electronics!
If you turn off your electronics and lights in your room before going to bed it sends a message to your brain saying "It's time for bed." Stay away from all electronics for at least an hour before bed. I totally understand if you need to keep your lights on for a while longer but turn of everything including bedroom light about 20 mins before going to bed.
Ex. If you want to get to bed by 10:00 pm turn off all electronics at 9:00 and turn off all lights at 9:40.
  • Make sure you have a comfy bed
If your mattress is stiff, pillows are hard as rocks, and covers aren't soft, no wonder you cant get to sleep! Make sure you are comfy because if you aren't it will take you a much longer time to get to bed. Your pillows and covers don't need to be expensive temper pedic or anything just head over to your nearest Target or Walmart and get something you think is comfortable for you!
  • Think of something that will help you forget about life
For example think of a rainbow, unicorns, count sheep, imagine a cow jumping over a moon, think of whatever happy thing gets your mind off of your life. Do not think of a monster, a knife, or anything crazy because you will get nightmares. If you want you can even listen to some peaceful music like classical piano or even lullabies.
  • Don't drink that much caffeine during the day
If you drink caffeine during the day multiple times you will not be tired when you need to be and when you need to be awake you will be tired causing you to drink more caffeine so do everything you can to make you not drink it!
  • Make a sleep Schedule
Try to go to bed and wake up around the same time every day (at least on weekdays) so your body will keep a schedule and it will start to realize what time it is you go to sleep making it easier to get up and go to bed.
  • Exercise on a regular basis
Exercising can help you with a lot for example loosing weight, getting that nice flat stomach and non jiggly arms for spring break and summer, or getting to sleep faster. Exercising will make you tired during the day and then by the end of the day you will be so tired once your head hits the pillow you will be out like a light!
Bye y'all! Sweet Dreams
